이 곡은 사랑했던 여인이 떠난 후,

그녀를 진정 그리워하는 남자의 심경을 빗줄기의 리듬에 따라 표현한 곡.

 

이 곡은 폭포라는 뜻을 지닌 그룹 캐스케이드(Cascades)가 불렀는데

캐스케이드(Cascades)는 캘리포니아주 요세미티 공원(Yosemite Park)에 있는 폭포인데 거기서 이름을 땄다고 합니다.

캐스케이드(Cascades)는 1950년대 후반 캘리포니아 샌디에이고(San Diego)에서 결성된 5인조 밴드이고, 1969년까지 활동을 했는데,

대표곡이 바로 이 '리듬 오프 더 레인(Rhythm Of The Rain / 비의 리듬)'입니다.

이 곡은 1962년에 발표되어 이듬해에는 빌보드 챠트(Billboard chart)

#3위에 오르기도 했습니다.

캐스케이드(Cascades)'의 최대이자 최초인 히트곡이 되었습니다.
